He eventually succeeds after having been badly injured during the day’s work, as one of the hatchling dragons was “miscounted”, thus no one would notice if it was missing, though it is eventually revealed that Sarkkhan had purposely given him the opportunity to steal the hatchling, knowing that Jakkin was literate and could read the breeder’s chart posted on the door.

The humans eventually managed to tame some of the dragons, and train them. Recommended for agesbut an enjoyable read for anyone who likes dragons. I mean maybe it’s just me but something tells me a planet full of slaves descended from convicts should be a little less reliant on the honor system to prevent someone from robbing other bondsmen and using the stolen gold to buy their own freedom.
